RUNA IKEDA

Runa Ikeda is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, clay work, installation, and performance. She graduated from Tokyo Design Academy in 2010 with a focus on illustration and design. During her studies, she began to explore painting as a means of personal expression.

Her work delves into the complexities of the human psyche, seeking to transcend the visible world and access deeper states of consciousness. What began as a release of inner emotions gradually evolved into an exploration of dreams, the subconscious, memory, and the connection between humanity and the world around us.

Ikeda’s practice embodies both self-expression and a search for something beyond the self, reflecting her belief in the interconnectedness of past, present, and future. In recent years, she has deepened her inquiry into temporality and eternity as they exist within both individuals and the world at large. Her recent works include installations combining natural materials such as straw with contrasting, industrial elements, as well as experimental approaches to painting.

池田ルナはペインティング、ドローイング、クレイワーク、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスなど多様な手法を横断するマルチディシプリナリー・アーティストです。2010年に東京デザインアカデミーを卒業し、イラストレーションとデザインを専攻。在学中に絵画を通して自己表現を始めました。

彼女の作品は、人間の複雑な心理に深く踏み込み、目に見える世界の枠を超えて、より深い意識の層へとアクセスしようとする試みです。内面の感情を解放する手段として始まった絵画は、次第に夢や潜在意識、記憶、人間と世界とのつながりといった、意識を超えた領域への探求へと変化していきました。

その実践は、自己表現であると同時に、自己を超えた存在への問いかけでもあり、過去・現在・未来が相互に影響し合うという彼女の世界観を反映しています。近年は、人間や世界に内在する「時間性」や「永遠性」の概念にも関心を広げ、藁などの自然素材と、その対極にある人工素材を組み合わせたインスタレーション作品の制作や、絵画の新たなアプローチにも取り組んでいます。

現在はベルリンを拠点に活動し、アーティスト・コレクティブfrontviewsのメンバーとしても活動しています。
